I need to know what an average price an owner operator would charge to pick up a load in the port of Baltimore and bring it 3 and a half to 4 hours north just west of Newark, NJ?

A little more info that will help.

    Its 400 miles round trip

    You need $100.00 for tolls

Its a minimum of an hour and a half at each facility

    You need your own trailer

2 to 3 trips per week

I'M not looking for someone to do this, I'm mainly looking to see if it is cheaper for my company to subcontract this trip out or send a company truck to do this.

No, not my company, I work for a company that wants to save money by letting an owner operater do these trips.

I was thinking $900.00 and up for an O/O to do it.

With fuel, tolls and pay for the driver and the union I would guess it would cost us $700 to do this load.

I forgot to add that it's a flatbed load and must be tarped.

That area? Freight pays what? Tell the shipper a grand and he will tell you "I can move it for $400 all day long." Worth a shot trying to get it, but I doubt the shipper will bite at anything that would actually make it worth your companies time. Just my .02

$700 is about right in my book.
I AM A FLATBEDDER, I TRAVEL WITH ALL EQUIPMENT NECCESSARY. CHAINS (FOR THE UNRULEY ONES), STRAPS (FOR THE SEMI-UNRULEY ONES), AND TARPS (FOR THE ONES NOT TO BE SEEN WITH YOU)!
