Too bad their concerns seemingly are invalid as this stupid mandate appears it’s indeed going through. For the record, I’m on elogs running linehaul but I don’t agree with it being forced upon everyone.

The company I started with apparently has no current plan to order and install them in their trucks. My old teammate still works there and when I asked him about it last night on my route, same story. Both he and they are somehow convinced it’s a bunch of hogwash and that they won’t need them. Guess that could get interesting for him in the next few months because when he and I ran together, we got pulled in for inspections often because the company has a crap safety rating, particularly in the HOS/fatigued driving category...

 

Agreed. I worked for a company once that sent a letter out to everyone, included in our paychecks, that it was “crucial” we vote for a certain candidate in the presidential election and also to vote said party across the board. Even though I agreed with their political affiliation, I found it highly inappropriate and ridiculous that my employer was essentially demanding something from me that’s none of their concern and none of their business.

I still have that letter somewhere with other paperwork and some old logs. It wasn’t a request either, it was basically a demand and was not worded very well either. We saw that when we opened our pay envelopes and just laughed and said WTF...

 

Whoever they told me to vote for I would vote against because who they want me to vote for probably doesn't represent me but a heartless corporation.

 

I am sure 6 even more worthless safety messages preceded that one ELD message and 7 more followed.

 

But Toomany.. Those are imperative safety messages that the drive must pull over on the shoulder to read! If he doesn't, who knows what wonderful information like "Don't crap on yourself!" messages might be missed!

While I have been generally neutral on the ELD thing, doing anything that helps the Anti Trucker Association, the Truckload Communists of America, and other corporate associations is counter productive to everyone's interest.

Werner makes me embarrassed to be a nebraskan ...nuff said.

 

...but they make good ladders. I have 2 of their aluminum ones and they're great!
