Hey all,
I was just wondering if anyone might happen to know of some good trucking companies that are either local to the Albuquerque, New Mexico area that might be hiring or trucking companies that might allow me to stay local in the Albuquerque, New Mexico area so that I can be home pretty much every night and that might be hiring right now.
I have worked for both Werner and Swift and at the moment I do not have my hazmat endorsement, but I am strongly thinking of getting my hazmat endorsement back just as soon as I can get some money comming in right now.
I am looking around and trying to find a company that will allow me to be local, but at the moment I just don't know as to who to try and I was hoping that maybe someone out there might have some good suggestions as to who I might be able to try.
If anyone has any ideas regarding this subject, then please don't hesitate to let me know as I am kind of in a rock and a hard place right now and I am hoping to find something right away that will pay at least somewhat of a decent salary and that won't screw me around like most of the trucking companies that I have worked for in the past.
Sincerely yours,
Robert.

Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

ive got a hazmat endorsement and it doesnt help me, you need about 3 years expearance to drive gasoline /tanker trucks

I've got over 5 years experience driving trucks OTR. I used to have my hazmat endorsement, but I lost it when I moved to New Mexico from Minnesota and have not been able to get it back as of yet due to both time and financial constraints.
If I had both the time and the money, then I would go back and get my hazmat endorsement just so that I have it to fall back onto, but at the moment I just don't know when that will be.
I was hoping that maybe I could find a truck driving job in the Albuquerque area that does not require hazmat, but so far I have not had any luck in doing that.

If you havnt found a job yet I know my company has a office down there because a gal from Albu comes up here to help out now an then. But you need one year exp in the last three.etc. etc. They will pay for your hazmat if you get hired an need it. but they can find work for U in the mean time that dosnt require Haz. Ive worked for them for over three years now . and thru them you should be able to find just what you are looking for. If you want to know a little more about them E mail me at Jeff I dont know how much work is realy going on down there but up here in MN I turn work down all the time and still work all the time. It works great for me here in the Twin Cities and I can pretty much work when I want to and take time off pretty much the same.
They made me remove my Email so if interested find a way for contact. maybe post a phone #
rdonovan1 Thanks this. -
Thank you for the information. I greatly appreciate it.
Minnesota is definately no stranger to me as that is where I am originally from. I was born and raised in Minnesota and lived in the Twin Cities Metropolitan area up until May of 2006. I left because I got tired of freezing my butt off every winter and because I felt that I needed a change of scenary. I guess you could say that for me it was combination of the weather and boredom that made me decide to leave Minnesota.
I still get home sick sometimes, but at this point I doubt that I could ever bring myself to the point of moving back to Minnesota. Perhaps leaving Minnesota was a good change for me.
I will check out what you said and see as to what is available and I thank you for the information.
Robert.

I hear ya on that tired of freezing your butt off in winter. Ive told the little women that if this winter is anything like last winter Im packing up the Chevy an headed straight for Galveston TX. thats my choice for a MN excape. Ive lived here 17 years next month. And have liked it. And I love to fish which theres plenty of here. And Galveston has some kick butt fishing too But things like Gustov the hurricane getting ready to slam the coast down that way. But its earth quakes in southern Cal where Im from or tornados an blizzards up here.so just one more of natures little tricks to deal with. Ilooked on there web site and found the phone number for the Albuquerque Office. The good thing is they have offices in a lot of choice areas so transfering to another one shouldnt be to much of a problem. Like I have family back home I havnt seen in many years so im thinking of going out and working out of the vegas office so I can visit friends an family for a while. The work up here is plentiful but in some of there locations theres not as much work as here. But use your northern work ethics and that should be a plus. If they allow me to say the name check out there site. its called ProDrivers. The albuq. phone number is 505-341-3500 dont realy on there job posts. because mn never post on there an has tons of work. but there is a new girl in the office so she posted a couple things lately. Iknow if I wasnt going to be spending some time out west visitng family I would have applyed with the company im working for right now.been on this gig for six weeks. a company called Stericycle.

Seemed like I ran out of room on last post so to finish I checked out the stericycle home page an see they have a open position like im doing up here. they call it a long haul driver in Albuq. NM its all drop and hook and everything is always ready on time. Im home the same night or out one night an home the next. ive got them trained not to sweat me on time so its been great for me. but you will need to get your Haz. I hear they will pay for anything that benifits the company. that means the haz for a driver in my book. Its a gravy job. also if you do aply at pro drivers please remmber to write on your app. that Jeff Huber a driver up in MN refered you. check out both Prodrivers an stericycle online. Good Luck I hear it can get kind of wild down there.

Thank you for the information. I am going to have to check it out. Now that I have my hazmat endorsement back my opportunities should be greater or at least I would think that they would be any how.
