I think the students will be ok, I talked to both of them today. Just got off the phone with one of them a couple minutes ago, and he's doing well. I was only concerned because I hadn't heard from him in a while, and that's not normal. But he's good, just busy :) The other one will be fine but he's stuck with my trainer. Circumstances and luck of the draw. But I guess that's going to change shortly and he's remaining positive and he's in great spirits. And thanks, I appreciate your sentiment about my cousin's wife. Yes, cancer sucks. I'm still in shock. She's already gone through so much. This sucks. I haven't cried in a very long time.

I know you aren't big on rest areas man, but if you're popping out of Indy on 70 heading East there's a really big one a little ways down the road. Easy parking and quiet.

Sorry to hear about the medical issues. Hoping for the best for the situation for you.

Wassup Truckerland. Greetings from Fort Chiswell, VA. I'm starting to feel like I should be getting my mail here, I've been here 4 times in the last week or so, and this is my second night in a row. It's not necessarily a favorite of mine, just circumstances. It is unbelievably roomy though. So if you're ever in the area and running out of time, this Flying J pobably will probably have a spot. I finished my run going to Charlotte this morning and was predictably given a glass load that picked up in Lexington. This is going to Trenton, so I imagine I'll be getting a beer load or whatever might be sitting at the terminal. I have managed to repair my 70, thankfully, I was heading towards an almost certain reset. I decided to just force a balance by running a little less each day so I could fix a couple really low days I have in my cycle. Hopefully it isn't annoying Opie. The money ends up being the same, but the hours aren't so choppy, which is nice. Just in case you've never done the math, 70 hours split equally into 8 days gives you 8.75 hours per day. And, 3000 miles divided equally over a 7 day pay week is only 429 miles per day. Easily done. Once you balance your hours out, you are in a position to always run like that. Actually, you won't have a choice lol. It makes for a more relaxing week, and for more sleep. I'm going to take advantage of that tonight for sure. I'm hoping that whatever load I get, it sends me in a different direction. I've been up and down 77 and 35 quite a bit lately, and new scenery would be awesome. But a load is a load, and I'm happy with whatever. Today was a pretty good day. Both my receiver in Charlotte and my shipper in Lexington were pretty quick. Traffic and weather were awesome. It doesn't get any better than that, unless you're heading home. As always, an easy day results in a fairly boring post. I've had a few of those lately, so that's a good thing :) I hope you guys are doing well. Be safe out there on your travels. Keep the rubber side down, and check those pins. Peace y'all, catch ya soon.

Wassup everyone. I'm in Spiceland, IN for the evening and just about to call it a night. I had another smooth day today. I hot to the Trenton drop lot exactly on time, to the minute. I was planning on being a little early, but was blocked in when I woke up :biggrin_25516:. Good times. Apparently security is a little lax at that truck stop. I had a boss once that lived by the saying "If you're early, you're on time. If you're on time, you're late. If you're late, you're fired." Thankfully that's not the case here, or I woulda been considered late. I dropped my trailer and was sent to the terminal to grab my load. It's heading to Edwardsville IL, same place I went to a few loads ago. This time I'll know their routine, that always helps. I'm guessing I'll be getting a Budweiser load after that since I'll be close to the brewery. And hopefully I won't be waiting so long to get unloaded. Detention pay is nice but doesn't help your schedule out. I was given the choice to take another load going to the exact same place and delivered at 7am instead of 9am. But, I desperately needed to get some laundry done and grab a shower. So I took the later load. I may end up paying for that tomorrow. I'm 5 hours away which will leave me with plenty of time to run, assuming I'm not at my final for half the day. Maybe I'll get lucky. I was told by a few drivers last time that really long waits are abnormal, I guess I'll see tomorrow. Here's hopin'. I hope all you guys are doing well out there. Stay warm, it's gonna dip low tonight. Be safe on your travels. Keep the rubber side down and check your pins. Peace.

I wouldn't have heard you on the CB, I don't have one. I'll eventually get a handheld for shippers, but I'll never get a big one for my truck. And yup, I know that smell well. There were a couple guys burning theirs up around me this morning in West Virginia. Even with jakes they were still smoking. Too much speed, man. Like a wise man once said... You can go down a hill too slow a million times. But you can only go down that hill too fast one time.

Ya I thought I remembered you saying you didn't have a cb. Tell ya what, going thru the WV turnpike and down Fancy Gap with only 9k lbs is nice lol. Everybody with their flashers on doing like 25, and we were in middle doing 60. Def the way to travel thru here, but 1st time I've ever been this light thru here.
