Not every week is $5000. This weeks pay for me was $4,431 NET on roughly 2200 IFTA miles, $835 in fuel, that works out to roughly $2 a mile NET TO ME. It is a 70% (me), 30% for the company. No other hidden deductions or fees. I can use their Comdata fuel card or pay cash. You buy your own plates, pay your own 2290 and IFTA. My IFTA here is roughly $14 a quarter, and they pay it out of my settlement.
Most of the freight we haul is under 15,000 lbs, most cases it is a skid or two, average length of haul is under 100 miles. And you get plenty of bunk time.

how many runs a day?
edit: I'd be willing to have some slower weeks if it can be made up. i do not expect to become a millionare doing this, but i am tired of just barely scraping by and basically breaking even every month with just they house bills. -
What is supporting documents rule?

I know, this racket sucks. The only way you make money out here is to be ready and available when the load comes up. I like to stay out at least 5 days, this time, I stayed out 3 weeks living in the truck just a few miles from the house, my net will be in excess of $14,000. It is a job, but we are treated very good here. I deal with three people, 24/7, that is it. I have never met, nor spoken with anyone else in the company other than the gal that handles payroll, she is number four. And I have never had pay issues here due to the companies fault. They are straight shooters and have a fantastic safety record. You call the shots here, I have been off for a week now after my three weeks out. No one has called to bother me. I will be going back on Tuesday Morning. We get detention and are quite honestly treated incredibly well here.
As far as a truck, I would not spend over $20,000 for one. My buddy, he works here too, just picked up a 1999 or there about Freightliner FLD condo, fresh in frame and rubber, $14,000 and got it financed. Just saying. And I get NOTHING if you come aboard. Put it this way, everyone that I have recommended, none of them worked out. But, I have been doing this crap, automotive, for a long time. The saving grace? I stay close to the house if someone needs me, and the money is pretty darn good for what little work I do, and the free time it allows me. And I love my free time. I took the entire month of October off.

well, what can you tell me about the Volvo? if you want to switch to pm, or stay here, whatever

The Volvo has a small sleeper, Volvo motor and Virgin Rubber. It does have a front cover oil leak, but I think they could run it over to Canada and fix it for you. I would do that. This company I am leased to is Canadian owned. Other than that, if you can handle the small sleeper, it is a good buy. All of the records are there, and it has been well maintained. No emissions and I believe around 600,000 on the ODO.

I got to read it again and find a link to it but basically if you are on paper you must have so many dated time stamped documents a day to prove you are were where you say at that time
