TA And Petro no longer give free showers for PM’s and maintenance.

Loves is definitely winning the points contest hands down and its Totaly about what works for you.
I want to fuel shower and eat a decent meal as fast as possible and be gone asap ..not fast food either !
I think loves offers a great product to those willing to put up with the waiting for everything and lousy food .
But after being platinum and diamond and adding up all the minuses I'm just wasting to much time ...may even hold my nose and start buying fuel from pfj to depending on the location .

Run nights.
Have a whole parking lot to choose from.
Have no wait for a shower...sheesh.

 

As I understand the accounting (which may be VERY VERY wrong, the shop and the truck stop are two different entities under the same corporate structure. Each has their own accounting and profit/loss the flows into enterprise level accounting. So the shop has to buy the "rewards" from the truck stop. Each entity wants to maximize its apparent profit so the truck stop portion doesn't care about the shop and vice versa. When the shop fuels it's roads service trucks I doubt it gets a discount.

Let's be honest, truck drivers have less and less choice in where to fuel or get maintenance done. Companies and fuel cards like NASTC end up dictating where drivers fuel based on what discounts are available. Thus the truck stops are less willing to provide "comps" to drivers, especially when offering the "comp" doesn't result in increased business.

 

Exactly... profit on 50 gallons is nothing compared to what they make at the shop.

 

And because the big box carriers don't fuel at tas and petros your truck is safer.

Edit: if you think ta and petro is decent food you need your head examined.

 

Pfj has been giving us 5 points per gallon fur over a year, maybe 2 years. Sill try to never park there. My hood is worth more than a free subway.

 

All this points and free shower stuff is a bs scam. It's all built into the fuel price.
Truck stops always have the most expensive fuel in the area.

 

I stopped at the loves at Oakdale wis today for a shower and of course handed a wait in line ticket as always ...my last month of free showers And I won't see platinum again .
The lady at the fuel desk said the people in the showers been in there 45mins or longer .
Pretty much sealed the deal I'm done with loves .

The next time freight rates drop im gonna shut the truck down for a week or two to remodel. Wont ever see another truck stop shower again after that.
