Current company driver. Aspiring O/O. We get a little extra pay to be Canada qualified but did not antipate they would have us doing 3 consecutive loads of explosives and its supposed to dump over a foot of snow while we’re there. That’s too many snowflakes for us snowflakes. I usually drive as much of the snowy stuff as I can to spare her but she will have to do far more than she ever has. She was born and raised in Tucson and snow makes her scared and anxious.

If I recall Wa state is weak for freight. Granted you are specialized. If buying a truck would allow you to see your kids more. Missing them to be able to buy a truck, which in turn allows more home time, might be worth it. You have to know what type of financing you can get up front, so you know what you can buy. Which you can tie down now if you haven't.

The Volvo guy sent us a one page credit application. They don’t ask for very much information. I’m gonna do the same with the Freightliner dealer. We have no track record operating a truck in business so our banks don’t want anything to do with it.

I Forgot to mention that we got a quote on a new Cascadia for 149,000 with some good options on it. Someone else said they got one for 134 fully loaded at Fontana Freightliner. I see them advertised for 165. I wonder why prices are all over the place.

Yeah Freightliner took like three weeks to deny and then offered a lease. But a different one said if I put 20k down on 98k truck it would be a go. Similar I had been an oo for 15 months. My credit score was/is 720 ish.

That’s a good score and you had a track record as O/O. My credit is better but no track record.

    77fib77 Thanks this.

Really, the hand made ones like the 389's ?, doubtful, but really even if it took 3 months to turn one out they would still be junk, you will find that out when you or your boss goes to sell one, zero resale in a junkliner.
