Have a 2004 Freightliner Columbia with a Detroit 14L. Truck has about 700k miles on it and it's time for an inframe. I've been talking to several shops and getting quotes for the work. I've been quoted for OEM inframe, counterbores, injectors, head, water and oil pump at 15k which includes labor. Does that sound reasonable? Shop only offers a 90 day warranty on parts and labor.

I don't think that sounds unreasnable.
If they are all oem parts . And the mechanic knows what he' is doing that ' don't sound bad.Mark Griz Thanks this. -
Only thing that is odd is the 90 day warranty. That would be a deal breaker for me.
snowman_w900, Ruthless and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -
If you take it to a Detroit Diesel shop it will cost about the same but you will get a 2 year warranty.
Bean Jr., Dave_in_AZ and Mark Griz Thank this. -
700 k sounds a little early, something fail? No turbo, bull gear in quote.
One of the best independent DD builders in the country, and yes I have their engine in my truck and would never buy from any one else.
American Fleet, Inc. | Detroit Diesel sales and service.J.S., Dave_in_AZ and Mark Griz Thank this. -
That shop may be using china made knock off parts that will last about as long as the warranty they give?
Mark Griz Thanks this. -
Only accept real DD parts except the turbo, go with BW.
Bean Jr., Dave_in_AZ and Mark Griz Thank this. -
Replaced Turbo back earlier this year.
Replaced turbo earlier this year. Mechanic did not quote bull gear in with that price but had looked it over a few weeks ago and said it looked good. -
