Hello, i'm new member needing some help, my dad is a truck driver owner, and i would like to try it also. I have got my permit now i just have to get cdl , but dad tells me that i should buy my own truck to make good money. The problem is i only have 10k which is not enough for a low mileage truck, i'm trying to find good bank that will lend me like 15k thru personal credit line so i will have 25k for a salvage low mile age truck and enough money left for plates and insurance and diesel. Anyone knows bank where i try to get them????? I figure someone from you pro truckers knows.
Thanks . I can't wait to hit the road!!!!!!

Personally I would wait at least a yr or so to make sure that is what I really wanted to do with my life before buying a truck.

Some people start driving trucks and find out it is just not for them. I'm not saying that will be the case with you but you never know.

Now if you must start off with your own truck you don't have to start off with a low mileage truck, you can get a decent truck for 15k you just have to shop around. I have been seeing some really good deals on trucks.

It is extremely hard to get a bank to finance trucks........I think my bank finances fewer than 5 trucks........good luck and I agree with Coonass drive for an O/O for a year or two and se if it is what ya really want...notice I said O/O not a big co. You need to get some experience to satisfy the insurance companies....can your dad take you along and help "train you"........

getting your truck might be the least of your problems, where are you going to find someone to lease on with no experence? this isn't a job at macdonalds:biggrin_2551::biggrin_2552::biggrin_2553:

You just have to shop around, I was looking in the truck paper around here today a saw quite a few deals. I didn't mean 15k exactly but in that area.

    We bought a 97 mack ch613 with 450ish for around 18k.
