As is the list for any large trucking company. So your point is?

 

As is likely any company with over 1000 trucks, look at some with a 100 trucks or less some are real SCARY.

 

Since it was the first post for this person, it sounds like a forum newbie just trying to stir up an old argument that has been raised and lost with information like you just provided. Rather than coming here to give valid discussion, it sounds like someone just perpetuating usual truck stop speak.

I actually did look up Swift Ratings from the DOT and as of 11/26/2008 they were actually rated as "satisfactory" although they are due for a compliance audit. And they are way below the national averages for out of service violations for vehicle, driver(almost 1/2 on this one) and hazmat. And as far as crashes-they have only reported 2533 and of which 73 involved fatalities and 869 involved injuries(BTW this is over a 30 month period, which actually comes to less than 100 a month) of the entire fleet then again below the national average. 30 states they have GOOD or better rating in, FAIR in 14, and POOR in only 2. Swift is currently reporting their average number of power units to be around 18,687(down about 100 from 18 months ago).

Current Value is 61.03, which is pretty good. 0 being the best and 100 being the worse.

 

Actually the truck count is only updated when there is a DOT audit. One of the bad things about safestat scores. So you can have more or less accidents etc.. then your truck counts reflect. Overall, looking at the last 5 years, you can see the safety push we have done.
