Both time when I got it. They were suppose to be pre loaded. They told me to come back in the morning. It was alright with me, I was low on my hrs anyway.

There its no reason it should take more than 3.5 hours on either side. But we know it often does.

Had that happen with a backhaul I was going to pick up by 2000 take my break and deliver next morning. Load wasn't ready. Call in the morning to confirm my trailer was loaded then went to pick it up. Turns out they were 37 loads behind the night before because they only had 1 loader on duty. My load wasn't untill 0430. This was fine because I had until midnight to drive about 125 miles. But I wound up getting detention because the load was late being ready which was a bonus.

Had that happen to me at big heart pet brands in Topeka once. Same situation. Got $300 to take a 10 he break but it did put me in a bind on my next load.

You're right, it shouldn't. I know it won't do any good but I'm going to email the head of traffic at this company & let them know how disorganized it is. At least I'll feel better. I've been to one other DC for this company & it was easy peasy. I always plan for 2 hours regardless of the customer but this would've been fine to take 3 hours to unload if they would've got me in at my appointment. Oh well, it is what it is. It doesn't happen often to me & it always gets fixed. I'm just sitting, literally, an extra day on the road instead of being home a day earlier. It does put me in a little bind since I'm leaving the 22nd to go to Cali for football. I planned on being home afternoon of the 20th but now it will be evening of the 21st.
