Shoppers and receivers are heartless. Some provide toilets and microwaves but we should be compensated for having to sleep in their doggone parking lots.

As predicted settlement from home time week was sad. Plus JB forgot to start lease deductions earlier so now suddenly I get to make makeup payments. Aggravating. This settlement and the next 2 Will be pretty small also thanks but JB says they are raising rates 2018 so for those of us on percentage will get a bump too.

I havent read it through word for word yet but it's not nearly as bad as most are making it out to be. Especially for owner operators. Basically we lose the flat rate per diem but can still deduct the actual cost of meals, and gain lower tax rates. Those of us with children will see a big gain in the child tax credit. The most interesting part of it is the huge cut in the corporate tax rate. That's potentially a game changer. need to do more research and make the time to do the math, but on the surface it looks like reorganizing into a c corp will save us a boat load on taxes.

Now for the bad news. If you live in a state or city with high income tax and make a lot of money you may see an increase in federal income tax because its no longer deductible from taxable income on the federal level.

Over all tho most people, are going to see a net decrease in federal incone taxes. A few at the lower end of income will see a slight increase, but lets be realistic.. they weren't paying any significant income taxes anyway. So that piddly 300 dollar tax bill becomes 325... my heart bleeds.

It's hard to be sure but it looks like o/I are going to experience a hike because of the pass thru rules. Just have to let the bean counters duke it out I guess.

Speaking of bean counters. What's with the household movers miles? Someone tell me what magical route from Gadsden al to dekalb il is only 640 miles?
I get paid by load not by mile but man I got underpaid on this one!

A left over system from 1950. Almost every one has switched to pc miler practical routing now. At least every one worth pulling for. As soon as i hear a potential customer mention hhg miles i immediately know they are are trying to move their stuff cheap so it's time to move on to the next customer.
