I just saw a job ad to move drivers from California to work in the Midwest on a $3500 relocation package. Has anyone done anything like this? It is a regional gig so truck will have a sleeper but the relocation incentive should be higher, perhaps in the 10k+ range and I would be persuaded.
Has anyone done a relocation package with a trucking company?

That ads been running for at least 5 years.
Ask yourself why the 300,000 truck drivers that
Live in the Midwest don't want the job.austinmike Thanks this. -
I'm pretty sure I've seen them for as high as 8k relocation bonus. Some grocery delivery dedicated gig with one of the megas.

Usx has those ads all the time on Craig's list.If a driver accepted a job like that wouldn't then have to pay back the relocatiion money?and how is it paid out to the drivers one lump sum or in bits and pieces?Jazz1 Thanks this.
-
It doesn't have to be paid back but it's the same as a"sign on bonus", usually paid over the course of a year.
-
I would not trust any company with "holdback" for relocation. Probably have to corner owner with a big stick to get your allowance.
-
So basically drivers have to the relocation bonus and the driver gets reimbursed?Company should pur that in their ad.How many has that much money saved. If they did they wouldnt be desperate for a job.
-
If you're smart with your money you'd have more than that saved upDan.S Thanks this.

I have heard of Schneider and JB offering such packages in the recent past. Dedicated gigs that few want to do.

Ya maybe but truckdrivig is one of the lowest paid jobs there is for company drivers. The average person has roughly $500.00 in their bank account.Justrucking2 Thanks this.
