I am guessing no one ever gets 11 hours of driving in so the big thing will be the 14 hour clock?
Are they trying for any exemptions ?
Are they on the same hours of service regs as the OTR guys?
Are they mostly on the 100 mile radius deal which I know pretty much nothing about?
    So many questions !!

I run Texas logs in the state of Texas. 15 hour clock, 12 hours of driving, no 30 minute break requirement, and the 15 hour clock stops when I go off duty. The 15 hour clock also resets after 8 hours instead of 10. The ELD mandate means nothing to us.

The rest of US oilfield needs to adopt the TX oilfield regs

My company has been running ELDs in all trucks. It's not that bad. If you run legal it makes no difference. If not, sometimes you just have to get a little more creative.

We ran PeopleNet in North Dakota, after incidents and accidents increased, and then a fatality, they ripped them out of the trucks. It was the 14 hour rule, inflexibility and trucking do not go together. They removed PeopleNet, and we returned to normal, incidents and accidents virtually went away. They put us on time cards, which is what they should have done in the first place. That guy on the motorcycle might still be alive.

I see a Texas Reg. that requires ELD come 12-16-2019. We have 2 more years if we stay intrastate.....No sneakin' cross those state lines, now, now, now you boys....lol

100 air mile exemption is what I’m doing and have been for a while. There is a site “ draw a radius around a point” that I use. change the radius to 115 miles (air mile is longer than a street mile) put in your location. That is your circle. I don’t leave mine. You are supposed to start and stop the same place every day and your day is only 12 hours. But .......you are not required to carry that info.

Been rather interesting here in South Louisiana as far as trucking goes. Company's here are saying they are not having any problem covering loads.
Cheap rates and to much waiting time ( un paid ) is killing the 14 hr clock.

Meh, I've always used them so it's not really a big deal. But I'm only hauling oil

Only problem up here so far is they can’t get the “team” loads covered as easy as before.

Big companies would probably frown on Pa. to OKC run as personal conveyance.
