Gotta take that "happy customer" video with a huge grain of salt. How does the viewer know all the stated information is true and accurate? A competitor could get a shill and make any kind of video he wanted

I asked him who tuned his radio.
He was proud of it and told me.
Why would he lie? Notice I could barely understand him.

With all due respect you have exhibited a bias towards one particular Tech in the country. Maybe your receive was screwed up

With all due respect, any bias I may have is based on the school of hard knocks. If my receiver was messed up, it would overload at close range or be unable to hear a Cobra 29 at 45 miles both of which are documented.

To conclude with only a "radio check" that a particular shop screwed a radio up is laziness. How do you know the guy didn't have a crap antenna or bad antenna install? Maybe bad coax or connectors? Youve said yourself on this very forum that the antenna and antenna install is of utmost importance. Maybe there was electrcal interference. Without a thorough evaluation of the entire setup all we are getting is anecdotal information from you.

    Very true. Valid point.
Here's a pretty cool video that no technician anywhere in the country will be able to show you. Anybody who says they are capable of doing this without showing you are full of hot air.

Dont take me wrong rabbi, youve posted reams of valuable info here, but I assume Bell is trying to feed his family with his work and I just had to say something.

You're right you're absolutely correct. Bell is trying to feed his family by taking your money and you are trying to feed your family while saving money. I'm just trying to help you save your money so you have an easier time feeding your family. Without bringing any radio technicians into the equation you're always better off purchasing a radio from amazon.com and not letting any technician touch your radio as opposed to the wrong one. Stock radios right out of the box generally outperform everyone's work out there except for maybe one or two people.
Here is an interesting problem that applies to every export radio out there when converted for 11-meter use.
Since most people would be lucky to talk 20 miles with a $600 radio it kind of seems pointless to spend that kind of money on a radio without being positive your technician is capable of overcoming that problem and it would be a lot simpler to purchase a 45 mile Cobra 29 for a hundred bucks and call it good.
