I know, this question is all over this site. But I would like to get a little more input. "What is the BEST company to Leese to purchase from?" My credit sucks, I have NO money in the bank and I barley survive as a Company Driver. Ive been Driving for six years and about the only way of having my on truck is the Leese/purchase plan.
What about Transport America's Leese program? or FFE's Leese?
Ive read the adds but they ALL have there ups and downs. But who is the Best? and do I have a shot in Hell on making ANY cash?
    Thanks.

you do not want to ever do a lease purchase with any company that you are getting your work from.

You also do not want to start to lease purchase with no mpney in the bank.

What happens if you start to purchase the truck then the engine, clutch or something else goes out you will be broke still have the truck payment but will not have any money to pay for it.

You need to have quite a bit of money saved back for those what if's happen.
Do not forget you will have to pay for all road taxes, fuel, fuel taxes, maintnence, self employment taxes, scales, tolls, tickets for having a truck that does not pass a road side inspection, road service to come out and fix your truck because it was placed out of service for bad brakes, tires etc.

Sorry to burst your bubble but you need to be informed because if you think a company will let you charge it to an account then you are mistaken.

They do not want to repair a truck that someone is buying and then end up with no money and a truck back.

If you cant make it as a company driver then I wouldn't do a leese. And right know the way the freight is no way would I do a lease. But ive saw something that you can get a bank owned truck with no money down, basicaly its like buying a house that the owner went belly up on it but maybe you can search that. Lots of trucks at dealers these days.

I would't lease or buy a truck from anyone right now. Have you been reading the paper or watching the news lately? Not such a hot time to start your own business, especially in the trucking industry. However, I'm sure most trucking companies are doing everything possible to get someone to lease their trucks so they don't have to pay for them right now. Freight is slow right now and this is supposed to be a busy season. Start as company driver(if you can get a job right now!) and then make your decision about six months down the road.

Then you should already know what a scam lease purchase is. Renting a company truck that you get to make payments on, pay for the fuel, the maintenance, pay ALL the taxes (no employer to pay half the social security or medicare tax for you), you have to set aside and make estimated quarterly tax payments to the Fed, State, and maybe local (depending on where you live), pay for trip pak fees, qualcomm installation and usage (in some cases), administrative fees for figuring the fuel tax and road use tax, then there is the issue of (possible) trailer rentals, reefer fuel, tolls, lumper's, scale receipts, etc.

Drum roll PUHLEEEASE!!! ALL THIS FOR AROUND .90 CPM PLUS FUEL SURCHARGE!!!

If you want to become an o/o save your money, buy a late model used truck from a dealer, and THEN lease it on to a carrier that is willing to give you some decent pay and bennies for running under their authority. Plates, permits, discounts on fuel, parts, maintenance, etc.

PSSST...... Confidentially.....Between me and you, union drivers and some senior company drivers make MORE money each week than many of these lease operators AND have benefits such as medical, dental, vision, disability, workers comp, vacation pay, paid holidays, paid sick days, taxes are covered, maintenance is covered, AND they get to go home and not worry about the truck on the weekend while the lease op gets none of these protections or has to pay more for them.

As a company driver if the truck breaks down its no sweat off of your back. You get breakdown pay and a different truck to use. Maybe even a stay at the local hotel on the companies dime. If its YOUR truck guess who gets to pay for the repairs. Guess who has to rent ANOTHER truck to continue with the load (or give it up to another driver). Yup the lease operator.

Dude do yourself a favor. Forget about these lease deals. They are a SCAM!

Wow I look at all the replies here. I dont mean to sound disrespectful but looking at your ages and years driving time you all seem to still be wet behind the ears. If you have kept an eye on what is going on in the trucking industry you will find most companies are now going with what they call lease programs but you never own the vehicle. Why are they doing this. It lowers there cost they no longer have to pay FICA or medical bens. I personly feel If you are going to lease a truck you should end up owning it. I have DONE much research and have found if you dont mind being out awhile JCT has probably the best program. YOU Can eventualy own your own truck. Watch out company drivers as the rest of the compaines figure out how to save expenses by forcing you to lease WITHOUT owning. Look its coming. Most of the super fleets are already doing this.

I wouldn't lease or buy anything right now. Unless you can pay cash and have no payment and some money in the bank. Right now, my truck and trailer are paid for. And let me tell you, if I had a truck payment right now, I would not have a truck.

Freight is very slow right now, so slow I dropped my authority and leased onto Jones Motor and then Schneider!

Here is my last good paying load from this past September, a Jones motor load. It paid $5 a mile, I received 72% of that, Milwaukee WI to Cincy/Sharonville OH. I left Jones soon after, and am now at Schneider. I just received my first paycheck in months the other day.

This was pretty normal freight up until say March of this year. I hung on as long as I could before going to Jones. That gig was good for about two weeks, and then everything dried up. I mean everything. Last week Jones had 115 loads for the entire country. That is Hot Shot and flatbed freight combined.

At least Schneider does have freight. I never thought I would see that pumpkin trailer in my rear view mirror actually attached to my truck.

But, as far as a lease, I wouldn't do it. Look locally, maybe someone is hiring. Or look to a company like JB or Schneider, ask about their intermodal or dedicated accounts. If you have a clean driving record and solid work history, they may give you a shot. But a lease or purchase right now is financial suicide in this current economic climate.
