It all depends on how many miles per week you get. I run midwest regional and my paychecks can vary between 400-800. It all depends on miles you get per week though. Nice thing about midwest regional is you start out at .35 cpm regular otr 48 states is .26 cpm I think but you will get alot more miles going 48. Most of my midwest runs are between 150 miles to 600 miles.

I hope your 400-800 are net wages. If they are gross, I feel sorry for you. In fact, anything less than 800 net is unacceptable in my book.
-
I don't think my family can survive off of $400 a week. I didn't think it was that low. I thought truck drivers made more then that. I can probably make that at a retail store.
walleye Thanks this. -
Keep in mind that by the end of year one you will have had 5 pay raises and be at $0.32/mile. Few companies that will hire newbies pay good to start off.
-
Heck ours starts at more than your 5 raises....
-
Does your company hire people with no experience? And do they hire in all 48 states? See, that is the problem, some companies do not hire everywhere. I live in NM and very few companies hire out here. They all pass through but they don't have enough freight in AND out to be able to get a driver home and back out so they just don't hire.
-
Yes and no. We pay more for 4 days orientation than what they are starting drivers at for a week.
-
I hate to even ask. What is the pay during road training?
-
$450 for weeks 1-4 then $500 for weeks 5 and 6.
-
That is not bad. I thought it would be around $300.
