Yeah, I've got $6000 invested in software and another $4000 invested in adapters, plus laptops.

With all these problems listed above, I'm glad I've got older trucks. Only item listed my trucks have is a turbo, and it doesn't cost 6-10 grand.

Shoot, you can just about get a brand new 3406b crate engine for what the shop bill is for a major emission related issue.

Yeah wtf!! 10k for a new turbo. 900 bucks for a new turbo on my non emissions truck. Actually an upgraded turbo costs that much. Yeah everyone wants a newer upgrade, but for me, next year I’ll buy ordering a glider with 3406 or 6nz. Glider will always be cheaper in long run due to down time on cost of repairs vs used newer truck. Some people just don’t get it.

Yes because the dealer gives me a 1 year parts and labor warrantee and I get to keep my buddies, do you understand that logic? That warrantee is good anywhere in these United States and Canada. I'm not cheap, I want my equipment fixed right and fast. You get what you pay for. Time is money

Keep your eyes open for trucks sitting in storage lots. Friend of mine picked up a 2004 379 pete w/c15 cat and a 48' spread axle reefer . wait for it ...........$4,000. He found out a finance company had the titles, they wanted to get tge tiles of their book, he made an offer they accepted.

Say goodbye to cheap $900 replacement turbos when you get that shiny yellow motor. They're almost $2,000 if you shop around but plenty of places selling them for lots more and beware of the Chinese knockoff lookalikes. But $2,000 sounds like a real bargain compared to $6,000-$10,000!? Wow!! I would say hopefully that includes labor although maybe not because they gotta be charging about $2,500 an hour for the labor. And I thought I could gouge on a rate every now and then lol.

$4000 may be what it was worth.

For a 2006 ISX it was at one time $3500 for the turbo itself. Add in all the royal screwing and I could not begin to guess what the misdiagnosis and labor and markup would be.
