I got an ELD device and hooked it up but it reads approximately 1500 miles more than my odometer on initial startup, how do I explain that at the end of the month?

What device?

Mine is off by 100,000 miles, Omnitracs unit... And I have the equipment and software to get in to my ECM. My odometer is correct, the ELD is wrong. As is the mileage it records daily, off by around 5 miles. If this is your truck, stick to a pen and paper to record your IFTA miles off of your ODO so you don't get in trouble.Last edited: Dec 27, 2017
diesel drinker Thanks this. -
My rand gps is 270 miles off from truck odom. This is in the last week. Makes no sense. Once again computers are goofy. Only thing ive known to be the most accurate is a hub meter.

On ours (we use Telogis) we tell our drivers to click on the little gear symbol (or settings) and tell them to Synchronize All Data and that usually gets things back to where they should be.

please note - this is a 730 and not connected to an ELD.Oldironfan Thanks this.

I can't say anything good about the eld rand I used. It was dumb as a box of rocks. Although the company always had good luck tracking the trucks. But the eld interface mad me want to run it over. That was a 740 i believe. Big thick brick.

I am confused here... you post here it is a 740, but in the PM you said it is a 730... so what are you pairing the ELD to?
