Trucker Law and then Company Law about guns

As long as you are compliant with the handgun carry laws in whatever state you are inspected in the DOT officer will not care, they don't enforce company policy on state laws.

Your company will follow whatever their policy is, most likely fire you and report it on your DAC. You may have a hard time finding a new job with that serious of a company policy violation being reported.

 

Well, I just picked up a Glock 42, little .380. I would suggest something like that and it is easily concealable. That is if you have your CPL... But, I have carried for years out here, my Glock 23, and have had to brandish it a few times in sticky situations, and back then I was illegally carrying... And I have had cops knock on my door in really bad areas, where I was parked in front of a shipper or receiver and they have asked me if I have a weapon in the truck. I was always honest, and every time I was told the same thing, do not answer the door if someone is knocking, and they will be by every few hours to check on me.

I carry, no bones about it. I like the little 42 on my hip in the winter, much easier to conceal than my 23, which I like in the summer. My loud Jahori West Shirts cover a multiple of sins. Including my Glock.

Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6. I would not be here today if I was not carrying illegally. And yes, I have pulled it, and thank God I had it.

The dot will do nothing because it isn't against the the law to carry

 

What makes dot above the law when carrying a gun? who the hell cares what they think? It is up to you to obey the laws in which states you are passing through and that they honor your carry license. Hopefully soon, all states will be reciprocal. FWIW, its a concealed weapon meaning you don't show it. How the heck is an employer gonna find out you are carrying if they have a policy against it. Doesn't make it illegal. If I worked for a company that was against it, go ahead and fire me once they found out I used it to save my life or someone elses.
