I miss sarcasm sometimes, still makes me feel like an idiot when I do. I will say these threads are good to get the traffic aggravation of the day out of me lol.

I think you're misunderstanding my post. I've never run an electronic log, and have walked away from jobs that decided to force them into contractor trucks. My truck has been parked since the 15th because I refused to install PeopleNet and send money to a company that was part of the effort to see the mandate pushed through. I'm merely pointing out the hypocracy of those who think elogs are the greatest thing since sliced bread and will clean up the industry by getting rid of all of the cheating. When they fail to log it by the book, they are no better than the people they are claiming to be such a hazard on the road. There is only 1 reason to "save" your hours by masking on duty time by logging it on line 1 or 2...and that is to allow you to work more hours than the regulations allow. It doesn't matter if you're on paper or elogs...cheating is still cheating. Just because the elog "allows" it does NOT mean it is legal.

You can take those paper logs and shove them
    where the sun don't shine.
Nobody can steal a minute of my 10 hour break
on E-logs no matter what happens that day.

No more 20 hours days covering everyone else's mistakes.

Grow a spine and they can't "steal" a minute of your 10 hour break or force you to work a 20 hour day...even on paper.

While i agree, not everybody has the same mentality. Every single trucker cant be the hard nosed weathered grunt who says no when its time to say no.

Im also not singling out those people, im merely stating that we all dont know whats best for our own selves, as in some people are followers and some are leaders. Not everyone can lead, and we definitely need followers.

That's the real problem though , the ELD won't save you from doing something you shouldn't , it just makes you hos compliant , there's times when you have hours but are sick or tired or sick and tired and you need to grow a set and tell shipper , agent , broker , dispatch , or your mother , no I'm not driving right now

If they are too weak to stand up for themselves when they have the regulations on their side to back them up, they get what they deserve. We're all supposed to be grown adults, so perhaps they should ACT like it! A person shouldn't complain about situations they helped themselves into.

Have you seen what climbs or falls or jumps out of a lot of these trucks today? In my opinion, a lot of them missed the "being adult" part of life.

I tend to trust a driver to do the right thing!
Especially my self , I don't need a baby sitter or an ankle bracelet .
Put me on the no freaken way I'd use an ELD without the mandate list , and I'm beyond caring if other drivers want to think I'm some kind of outlaw , I know the truth and I'll put my safety record against anyone's , 35+ plus years no accident , no stupid log book fine , in all that time , none , believe what you want

...and who's fault is that? The whole "survival of the fittest" thing doesn't work when we go out of our way to protect the weak.
