Ive had a few businesses and taxes were never a consideration as to if I started a business or not.. As far as regulations for most businesses are not affected by federal regulations to an extent it henders their business. Its state regulations that screw small businesses.

@crocky I am a 20 year commercial fisherman/vessel owner in Alaska. Federal regulation kills us. Trucking is bombarded by federal regulations. Farmers deal with absurd federal regulations through EPA and state DNR. Very few businesses are not affected by federal regulations one way or another.

Yup, the McDonald's inside pilot in Portage Indiana has the self serve order kiosks, I'm sure that's going to spread to many more McDonald's very soon. Not to mention other fast food restaurants.

If you look at the areas that have increased minimum wage, the other costs have gone up. You can liken it to prices when fuel hit $4 a gallon, prices on just about everything went up. If you leave a job for $15 hr job, it’s best to have no house payment and limited expenses. Housing in Seattle is ridiculous now and the bubble will eventually burst, as businesses are closing. It’s a tech area, just like Silicon Valley, and will suffer the same type problems.

This “I deserve $15 an hour” attitude isn’t going to produce more productive workers. It will increase prices and limit the hours employees can work and lead to more automation.

Fast food just might become a thing of the past. $15 big Mac meal anyone? It's already too expensive for the mass produced garbage they call food. I guess it meets the loose definition of food.
