I'd love to face you and your company in court. FYI, bring your checkbook.

Do you think that Swift is the only company that has meth heads driving? (the FEMALE driver tested positive) They probably have fewer than smaller companies that don't care about a drug testing program.

Tell ya what, if you run US 54 like me, be more afraid of the bull racks.

I come across Yellow Freight drivers behaving badly on US 54.

Jury awards are just the lottery. Too bad for the dead driver and the hurt guy. If it had been a one truck company guy instead of Swift, they'd be SOL.

I watch out for all of youse!!!!!!!!

There are warning signs about those wide right turns too. What happens when you crush a car that went in to that lane again? Oh yeah, your insurance pays because the lane was open at the time. It sucks, but that's how it works. My step mother is a claims auditor for State Farm and she has written enough checks to people that were on the right of a tractor after they were warned.

The Right turn gets alot of um I saw a new trucker (wasnt swift) right turn out of the fuel island and before he stopped he had about 80% of a peterbuilt hood under his tandems. That was one of the funnier things I have seen.
Other was dude standing in line at the fuel island with some dudes mirror in his hand .:biggrin_2554: I guess at least he was comfronting the guy but was kinda funny standing there

That is why they always say:

    Swing
    Wide
    Its a
    F (you fill in blank)
    Trailer

Who is to say what is too close? He might be 319 feet back, and still get a broken windshield at 60 MPH. From a loose stone.
Most of the problems I see, is the rocks are tarped, but the driver doesn't sweep off the tailgate area. Or the gate itself bounces on a bump, and the rocks come loose.

On the right turns, I always cover at least half the lane, if I have to swing wide.

Coming down I-15 into LA the other day I saw a Yellow cabover pulling doubles enter the closed scale at a high rate of speed, enter the empty lane and hit the speed bump fast enough with his doubles that it sent the tires 3 feet in the air if it was an inch.

A ####### is a ####### no matter what it says on the door. And if that cabover burned his brakes on that little grade, well, that makes him a double #######.

That being said, I try and give everybody enough room. You all are scary drivers with your big trucks.

    :biggrin_255:

Heck, I had a Conway daycab with 32 box almost ram me in the Conway yard in Fontana about three days ago. Guy jumped in his tractor, took off like his butt was on fire and pulled out while I was moving. Not like he didn't see me, he had to walk around my truck to get into his and I stopped for him!

Actually, people have tried (not our company but under the same clause) and lost. My wife wors as a claims adjuster for rental car companies and they have tried to collect many times and lost each one.

My purpose was not to attack SWIFT but to attack the fact that Swift employees seem to wine about everything. If the company you are working for is so bad then some of that is on you. The driver I saw was real. He could have been new. He had a problem of some kind and driving past an off ramp and then reading while you drive down the road is something a newbie should know better then to do. If the training there lacks, if the equipment is dangerous, if your company wont listen to you then form a Union and fight. Dont risk your life and the lives of those around you for such little pay. Fight back. Do what it takes to make the company you work for something to be proud of. If not, then you diserve what you get. As for me, I was called a RACIST for picking on poor Swift drivers. I am not a racist. Let me say this.....Some of my best friends are Swift drivers. Of course I would not like my daughter dating one.
