something similar happened in minisota. state patrol in the middle. i pass another truck swerving all over, big suprise one foot up on the widow/dash face in the phone. flash the lights at the cop pointing. not a dam thing.

I doubt the ticket cost would have made the paperwork to file it worth it.

Can't ruin a guys life to hand out a reckless driving ticket if it ain't no big rig!!

Split speed limit for sure. I'm doing 63mph (101 kph) speed limit is 100 and my governed speed is 65 (105).
Not sure how fast the dude in the taurus was going but OPP couldn't be bothered.

You ever driven the I90 west of Chicago? The right lane is for the slow pokes and slow trucks. 2nd lane is for trucks doing 65-70 mph and cars not sure where they want to be. 3rd lane is for cars doing 75+ and trucks that are passing people in the 2nd lane (despite the restriction on trucks to the two right lanes). Far left lane is for people doing 80+ mph and in a hurry to get somewhere.
In the few times I've been out there, I've seen cops driving over the speed limit in the far left lane, past trucks doing 70+ in the 3rd from the right lane passing trucks in the 2nd lane. The speed limit for trucks is 60 mph.
I'm sure the OPP is the same, they are looking for people going grossly over the speed limit and weaving in and out of traffic, trying to get ahead no matter the cost.
Even Wisconsin has signs up in some places where they say "keep up with the flow of traffic" which implies the speed limit really doesn't matter. Smooth traffic flow is safer than people driving 50-90 mph all mixed together.
I wish the OPP would do a better job enforcing truck drivers that think coming across the double yellows around a blind curve at 120 kph into oncoming traffic with two rock faces on either side of the road is safe.tinytim and Phantom Trucker Thank this.
