"Reefer, 200 miles around Kansas city picking up today posted within past ONE HOUR.

It got even worse.
To the point there was only me and one other truck posted.
Shouldn't have even been available today but thanks to a shipper holding the truck up yesterday my booked load for today had to be recovered by someone else soo I was back available again which ended up being a good thing. We all know the hold ups in Reefer world, add elogs into the equation plus super cold weather where nobody wants to go out and trucks don't start.
The perfect storm.
I knew if I posted my truck with my phone number my phone would basically short circuit and then self destruct.
Soo posted my truck with my contact being my email and within 5 minutes my tablet froze due to soo many emails hitting my email account soo fast.
Then my phone started blowing up and I was like wtf is going on, I didn't post my number. Then I got an email (to my personal email, on my phone) from my carrier about nonstop calls coming from brokers demanding for my number and that it needs to stop. I explained to them I had in my listing to contact me via email but when there's 2000 loads and 2 trucks posted we are basically in the Twilight zone.
The brokers become like wild zombies starving and fighting for a truck.
I just, I just couldn't even. It was too much
So for a change I decided I was just going to pick a load off the board myself and call it a day. Saw a 500 mile load to Chicago posted for $4,000, $8 a mile one day load. Called and of course the broker still had the load.
Broker told me they normally move these for $3 a mile pre-elogs but those days are over. I just took it, I wanted the madness of the day to be over.
Each day I say it can't get anymore crazy, that rates can't go any higher and then I'm proved wrong.
These brokers are losing itSingingWolf, CaptainDaveG, TennMan and 2 others Thank this. -
Question is, would you rather have fresh meat, or fresh buns?
LOL....Happy New Year people.SingingWolf and TennMan Thank this. -
I have no sympathy for the dirt bag brokers and shippers that have abused truckers in the past.
I don't believe in gouging the fair players out there, but some are getting their karma handed to them. Especially some of these cold storage places, I'd like to ask them how it feels to be on the other end of the stick.driverdriver, TennMan, drvrtech77 and 1 other person Thank this.
