Post-trip inspections are not a company requirement as per Reggie in orientation. I was told that back in August 2016 when I went through orientation.

And because I had read this entire thread up to that point, I had read about the many folks complaining about people not doing post-trip inspections. So I made a point of asking. "Are you SURE post-trip inspections aren't required?" He said he'd double check and tell us after lunch.

After lunch he confirmed. "You do not have to do post-trip inspections, only pre-trip inspections."

So you figure that a year and a half's worth of people (at least) have been sent through orientation since then, twice a week, being told that post-trip inspections are not part of their job and they are neither required nor expected to do them.

Not saying it's bad or good, just that it's apparently the reality.

Back when I was still working we had the PA dot come in and give a class, per the officer a pretrip inspection is required and must be flagged in your logbook, a post trip inspection must be performed but the time does not need to be accounted for in your logbook. Who's right who's wrong, what came first the chicken or the egg?

I have a map and I know how to read one. The issue is that by experience! There are some places where a map dosent provide information and you have to ask!

Reggie’s response might be the reason why he’s no longer employed by Abilene.
