Well,I have studied several different trucking companies on what might be the best fit for me and my family.
I started out with about ten different companies. I did not only look at what the cpm was,but what their perks was, hometime, running lanes, training, tuition reimbursement and what their trucks had on them such as,apu's invertors. Also I was not interested in a mega carrier .Not bashing them. Just none of them interested me.
I have picked NTB transportation. They are not a mega company, I like the running lanes, apu's and invertors, tuition reimbursement paid weekly. I like there hometime during training and once going solo,95% drop and hook. Training is run as a solo truck not as a team truck. This is a big deal to me. I want to get my training done and get in my truck.
They run mostly 8 states. They pull a lot of Meijer loads. Work 5 days and home for 48 hours. Will not be home on the weekend, but can work into that after a year. Got to have your hazemat endorsement.
Are they the best,no,I got to park at a drop yard about 50 miles away, alot of night driving (which I think I might really like). The pay during training is not that high but you got to start some where. Training is 4 weeks long.
If there are any drivers with them, take and post comments about them. The posts I found is not recent.
Once I start,I will keep you up to date.
My first company.

Anybody on the forum drive for NTB? Or maybe you know someone that drives for them?
-
Training as a truck by yourself is not training.
-
I am not going out myself. I got to go out with a trainer for at least 4 weeks. I got my cdl on my own.
x1Heavy Thanks this. -
Oh good. Trainers are very good. (USUALLY.....)
Just keep a eye towards your training in the company way of doing things. Be careful assimilating this type of information, don't be illegal.
Good luck! -
Thank;s much.I appreciate it.

How are you liking NTB hman? Still running for them?
