Just curious if anybody has any suggestions or if one should so something with all that snow that gets built up under the drives, on the landing gear, and in the suspension and what now after driving through a snow storm. Drove through one in WI last friday night and saturday morning and had a lot of snow built up under neath the back of my tractor, all over the landing gear and all across the back of my trailer, didnt know if I shouldve done anything about it or just let it be. It was all frozen so dont know if there was much I couldve done about it.

You will get an overweight ticket for snow and ice. Carry a hammer and bang some of it off if you are close to gvw. I have seen many drivers in scale houses getting snow off their trucks, brutal they dont give you a break in bad weather but that is the name of the game.

They definitely don't give you a break in bad weather, and it seems like they prefer to open the scales in the worst locations too.:yes2557:

That is sad also, I was 78500 on this last trip out, and after driving through all the slush and snow, I must of added at least of ton of ice! Glad that the Scales are for the most part, closed on Sundays, or I would of been hammering, Today down in southern TN, It all fell off in the Wall mart parking lot. what a pile of slush!, Locals there must of wondered where the snow pile came from....

Great way to work out some frustration, beating on that dirty mass of snow and ice.

There you go. Pretend it is your dispatcher. Or a DOT Officer!:biggrin_255:

I guess the easiest way to handle this is just to refuse all loads that take you into snow country. NOT!:biggrin_25512:

    Lilbit Thanks this.

OY! A little off topic, but you reminded me of the time my dispatcher and a DOT jerk had a shouting match over the telephone in Limon, CO.
I was caught between a jerk and a hard place and could really have used some ice to pound.

The issue was bulged trailer sides that went 1 inch over legal width.

back to our regularly scheduled thread...
