I ran out of hours at the flying j mm160 on I 85. Waiting for the sun to come up before running this load up to Brown Summit. It’s snowing pretty good.

Looking at google maps traffic Atlanta is a mess. Mostly green north of me so it should be good. Never know about these southern snow storms.

I wound up shutting down in Blacksburg SC. Took 3 hours to get from Carnesville Ga to here. Roads weren’t too bad but you could only run 40 mph due to the snow plows in SC.

Dispatch called around 9 AM saying they have 3 inches and the terminal and plant were shutting down early. I could have made it to the terminal but would have to deliver the load tomorrow anyway. That would mean 1.5 hours in my pickup and no layover pay. I rather sleep in the truck and make $160.

I screwed myself out of a lot layover pay, I parked in Charleston WV 0400 on Wednesday morning and was gonna sit there till 0500 today Thursday then drive 250 miles to Greensboro and deliver. Would’ve been 160 bucks for layover rte. But I was worried bout weather and conditions so I drove To Highpoint Wednesday evening so load would be for sure here ready to get to customer. So I feel I did the right thing but looking back at it I hurt my wallet pretty good.. don’t deliver till noon so now I don’t even get the 1 hour of layover pay cause I’m sitting in big truck at terminal. Want ever do this again

I've been hauling leachate all week. We had a big rain storm last Friday night, so a lot of water came in. Waste Management had to shut off all pumping stations so as to not overflow the tank and they still haven't turned them on. There's been 6 of us hauling around the clock to get the level down.

One night earlier this week I had to drain water out of the fuel. Some how when I did it, it got and air bubble in the system, so it stopped picking up fuel and shut down. Had to use the hand pump to re-prime the fuel system.

Turn what you would have gotten as layover in as weather delay. Write a little note about what you did and why. I bet you get paid for it because it’s reasonable. Add a little for getting your truck unstuck today as well as a mechanical issue.

    Nice to meet you today.

I am home hoping not to have to deliver my load tomorrow. Might catch a break since it was hazmat and the policy is that you can’t remain connected to it and I dropped it on the yard. No big deal if I do just a pain in the butt to come in only for that. Could have easily delivered it today had the plant not closed.
