Green permanent antifreeze is fine, just don't forget to keep up on your additive package and check the levels often. Newer coolants are far superior and while they may cost a bit more in the beginning, long term they are less maintenance and less frequent change intervals with far superior engine protection against cavitation and other corrosion inside the cooling system.

I've been using green antifreeze for over 30 years, rarely replace a radiator, water pump or head gasket.I see plenty of gasket problems and sludge build up with the newer garbage.
First thing I do on a new vehicle I buy, drain that crap out and go green.

It kinda looked like oil to me but its hard for me to gauge by pics. Oil will float ontop the coolant and cling to anything it can, by static charge if im not mistaken. If its an oil leak youll notice the oil level going down, and most of the time oil will pump into coolant ratger than vise versa.. You got 60ish psi of oil VS under 20psi of coolant so thats pretty straight forward unless a headgasket allows combustion pressure into radiator.

Ive used dawn and CLR to flush out icky water jackets with decent success. I will never run an SCA coolant again. I blew a HG and limped the truck aways with brand new orange SCA. Something about the compression or blowby or temp made an incredible plastic mess under the valvecover. Anywhere that blowby vapor would cling was coated a quarter inch thick in a nasty plastic goo. It wouldnt wipe, rinse or burn off. Many hours to get the stuff cleaned.

Now im just 100% premixed green with good coolant filtration. Filter keeps it clean a long time.

PS- heat exchangers are checked by plugging and pressure testing them for leaks or bubbles while submerged. They should hold whatever poundage you put in them. It can be a chore to rig up. If its oil leaking into coolant youll see the truck drinking oil over time.

This is what coolant looks like when engine is hot...the second picture is after a fresh flush i did couple weeks ago. It turns so dark and then slowly is seperates and become clear again but not as clear as the fresh coolant. I never had an issue like this and i will start the flush next weekend this is tripping me out. I really appreciate all of your advices and i will switch back to green this time and clean the system up.

It sounds like a seal issue.

    Why not tomorrow????

You know there is chemical reactions going on in there. That's why there's color changes. Different coolant's dont mix well - sometimes they start to gel / corrode / acidify (i.e. not good).

Just take a day off and commit to do this the right way once & for all.
