just want to give you a warning about roehl transport. I know in past this company had lots of good things about them but let me tell you that they have changed alot. I have been working for them for 18 months. for alot of time all was good but they changed. There dispatchers used to be very good but the ones i got were unprofessional. They would not send you the qualcom messages in proper order. they would put different times for appointment times. they would give you fuel stops that wouldnt work well with how much fuel you have, and there route assignments some of the times were so bad. finally they would send no directions to customer and no phone number to call them and expect you to get there. There dispatchers dont accept any blame. if something is wrong its because of the driver. they gave me a service failure due to dispatcher giving me wrong appointment time. on a write up said i took a extended brake. that was a lie on my qualcom and logs shows me starting my day exactly after my 10 hour break. they even had the date wrong for that dispatch. But of course its my fault the dispatch put wrong time down. finally when i decided to have a ac/dc converter for use of microwave i checked the company policy. it said you cannot wire a ac/dc converter to battery unless roehl does it which cost around 150.00 i asked mechanics at ellenwood terminal if i could use battery clips to hook to battery and diconnect them after each use. they said that would be ok as long as it is not bolted. I had this set up for over a year. now in marshfeild wi they pulled me in office and terminated me saying it was a permanent connection . Now for this i had to take bus to ga and have all my personal items 8 boxes ups to my home at my expense. Now I am trying to find new job and so far nobody will hire me due to i was terminated. I know some of you will say oh roehl is a good company. you believe this because nothing has happened to you. i felt the same way. i would preach to others on how great roehl is. i may very well loose my home if i dont find a job soon. you could take all i said in whatever way you want just dont say i havent warned you. for those who work for roehl and dont agree with me hey i do wish you the best of luck.

Celadon would only let my guy put in an inverter at Stoops Freightliner because they insured it in case of fire--it would have cost over 500.00-no payment plan-they wanted it up front-and his biggest ck at Celadon was 425.00 so guess what we never got. I feel for ya.

If all this was true that you say, Then you should have pulled the qualcomm records-you do have the right to that, qualcomm messages are kept by the company for 6 months, and by qualcomm themselves for ever. You should not have had 8 boxes of stuff in the truck--way to much! Every place that I have driven OTR at, I had just enough stuff in the truck, that I could clean it out and be ready to go in 15 minutes or less, if you have that much stuff then you are not there to drive, you are there to live--probally some of your problem there. Also as far as them firing you--I beleive that they had every right to. You did something that was specifiacally said in the rule book that you cannot do and you did it anyway. They do this about the inverters, because the trucks wattage is not powerful enough to handle it, that is why if you need one in there(BTW, for a microwave is not a need at most companies)they must install it so it is done correctly. If you burnt theri truck up because you had it in there wrong, are you willing to pay the company $100,000 plus for the loss of that truck? I didnt think so, and they know this too. What actually got you fired is that, and that is a safety factor, I would have fired you too. Remember what got you fired is your attitude that you think you know better than the company does, obviously from your complaining about the dispatchers and the inverter and the mileage. If you had that much problem over there, why did you not quit and go elsewhere? That way you would have not been fired. You got terminated strictly because of your attitude and not because of the company's. I hope you learned something from this and the next place that you go drive at you have a better attitude and better outlook, or your results there will probally be the same. I have never driven for Roehll and dont plan to--but I can spot a driver form 50 miles that will be terminated from whatever company strictly because everything is always the company's fault and never his, and they are out to get him. Guess what? If you play the perpetual victim all the time, you probally will be one!

Well it is the drivers fault for not getting written approval for the inverter but it's the company's fault that they don't have inverters built into the truck already. If they are going to have a policy for the drivers to not install their own then they should already be in the truck.
Doesn't take to much intelligence to figure out that if you are going to send someone out on the road for extended periods of time they will probably want the use of a inverter to save them money on the road.
And don't say they can't afford it because IDC is a large company and their trucks have them built in with regular outlets in the truck to plug into.
Drivers should be asking about these policy's before signing on so it won't be a issue afterwords. -
You say you have worked for Roehl for 18 months. In August of 2007 you failed your CDL and would have to wait at least a month to retest. Which would mean that the earliest you could have gone to work at Roehl would have been September of 2007. I am not trying to be a jerk but by your own post from the past you could not have been employed by Roehl longer than 14 months and out of EVOIII for longer than a year. I know I will get bashed for pointing that out but if part of what you say is a lie then the rest must be taken with a grain of salt.

this for one was the first time i ever been terminated 2nd when i had the idea about using clips like ones used to hook to batteries i first went to the roehl mechanics at ellenwood and asked them first. in rule book it says it is against company policy to have a permanent connection for a ac/dc converter meaning bolted to battery. these clips were only on battery when i used microwave when i was done i unhooked them. you must first know the definition of permanent. Second i have had a good attitude when working with them. whatever dispatch they gave me i did it. i come here to let people know what i been through so they know what to look out for. truck companies are so eager to put stuf on dac report this is my dac report for roehl. you dont know what happened you wasnt there. tell me this they say the way i had ac/dc converter set up for over a year why just now do they say something. when i come to work i always give it 100 % unless you know me you cannot judge me. just like i cannot judge youpanhandlepat Thanks this.

very true but in policy book it should state that you cant have a tempory hook up also my truck was worked on many times and over a year not a word was said. your right i should of gotten it in writeing i feel since it wasnt bolted to battery not even connected to battery if they didnt like the set up they could just say so i would of gotten it off the truck. my job is more inportant . now im having a hard time finding something else. if i dont find something soon ill be homeless.

You are still blaming the company..you still dont get it. They are all wrong and you are all right. Dont insult my intelligence, and I dont have to know you in order to judge your attitude. And dont even come on here and use the old tired out line that "these companies are eager to put stuff on DAC" This proves right there that you are new and dont know what you are talking about. The facts are that these companies are held by law to what they can and cant put on your DAC(if you actually read some of the other threads I have discussed this fact myselfand so have others)there is not a lot of room on the DAC to put filler, it is more of a multiple choice type of answer, if you actually pull your DAC(which you have the right to under the Fair Credit Reporting Act once every year) you will see that the DAC is not quite the way that you think it is. Those of you that think that these companies are all eager to put a bunch of stuff on your DAC, really dont have a clue, you have an attitude problem and personally we dont need any more of that in this industry, we have enough of it here already--so yes they were within their rights to fire you--it really doesnt make a difference about the permanent connection, ect whatever. You violated a rule and they terminated you, my guess is this was not the first time.
