Are you and the boyfriend in the same truck?
Not everyone can run teams, even with a husband or boyfriend.
Maybe you need to run solo.
Local isn't for everyone; you stay tired 24/7 with most local jobs because of the short period of time between shifts; during your time off you spend some of it commuting back and forth to work, then what every you need to do at home plus a few hours sleep.
Solo driving in a nice comfortable truck and with a company that does long runs is pretty nice. Spend very little time dealing with shippers & receivers; most of the time is driving at your own pace without someone in the passenger seat making comments.
New to OTR and I sort of hate it

And dealing with too many people and dispatch seems to be very confused or incompetent not sure which but it's very aggravating
-
I usually need about a day to become correct and human enough to deal with my family for a few days and then after the playtime and catching up is over, it is about 30 hours before go time I start to put on my trucker hat and begin to load the tractor, fuss over it, cluck over the small things with it. When I start doing that family knows Im leaning towards going to work again. Might be 6 months before they see me again.
It's not the best explaination in words how to do rest time at home. A period to decompress, a period to cartwheel, cavort and play, a period to catch up the chores etc and then the final homestretch getting ready to go.
If it is one thing dispatch will HATE YOU and GRIND a claymore against you is the day you are supposed to load out somewhere you take until after lunch to fire up that tractor. HA.... -
But driver. It's only three inches on the wall map why are you late?
WOT? Three inches HELL. 4 feet of snow for 3 days of your precious map. You come out here and do it then if you are so het up over that stupid little 3 inches on your precious [profanity] map... you numbnut...
One of two things will happen. Either you are gone or you will be respected. One or the other.RMTR69 Thanks this. -

The company sucks we do.a lot more sitting in parking lots then actually driving between the two of us some weeks we barely clear 700.00 they have had us in Pennsylvania for the past several weeks running loads back and fourth a cpl of hundred miles each they route us down every back ### rd known to man on more then.one occassion it's taken us 4 hrs to go 100 miles and when it was snowing a cpl of weeks ago they sent us down a bunch of snow covered mnts our truck seems to always have issues which they refuse to fix our Qualcomm box doesn't work half the time and whenever we want to go home and put in request they claim they didn't get them dispatch is rude as hell we have already decided that when we go home this time we are not coming back so we are looking for a new company but I'm not sure I'm coming back out the stress and lack.of money doing me in funny thing is they weren't doing him like this til I got in th e truck maybe they don't like women

Quest Global runs long runs coast to coast; probably see California/Pacific Northwest every week. This company will usually waive the 3 mos. experience required for a husband/wife/girlfriend team.
Which state do you live in?
