What exactly is a bottom feeder company? I'm so not understanding that phrase. Please explain this so everyone can understand. Also, what company is the best non bottom feeder company?Steel Dragon Thanks this.

The bottom feeder companies are the medium to large training outfits. They take large amounts of recruits into their crummy driving schools, give them just barely enough training to even pass a cdl test, then barely enough OTR driving training in which they have to team drive usually while the trainer is in back of the sleeper, unless it's a trainer who actuallly intends on teaching OTR skills to the trainee. Then that trainee is either handed the keys to their very own 80,000 lb behemoth, stuck with another ill train mook just out of school for "trainee teaming" where they are told they will both be awake at the same time coaching each other(LIE), and they will be micromanaged to the point where someone behind a desk tells them when it's ok to go potty. After a year of putting up with it all, that newbie usually gets fed up enough to leave for a good small company or just give up driving altogether. Or something will happen... a wreck, a few too many cases short on a load, a couple of missed appointments, the newbie is replaced by another piece of living, breathing meat just out of school for low pay, to which that training mega-company can grab freight from the smaller higher quality companies by driving rates into the toilet.
Steel Dragon, sevenmph, TST65 and 1 other person Thank this. -
If I have to park in a so called paid parking spot I just park there and tape a receipt to the middle of the windshield I have only been woken up once in the TA in Ontario but the other 100 times never bothered

..I've noticed billboard signs from Lawyers especially in Texas saying Not getting "All" your miles paid for that your driving? Call us....We all know unless your on hub miles which is a rarity these days on OTR, that this billboard holds true in many cases. Well what do you think drivers, any weight in these words or just all hype??Steel Dragon Thanks this.

i was with them for 4 months. when i signed up i was told i would get 2500-3000 miles a week.
would barely get 1300 a week. sat for days waiting on a load. poor truck maint.
had to fight to get home time. the planners would give bad info for the trip assignments. no incentives to work there.
