I have looked at getting the Scangauge for its other useful features as well.
Maybe 61-62 mph at 1300 rpm. I cruise now at 64 mph at 1375 rpm.
It is the 10 spd with .73 od not the new Endurant 12 spd with .78 od and this is a very common spec with 3.36 rear and 22.5 tires but maybe more often with a 13 spd od manual.
Our company opted for the Cummins over the A26 but everything else would be the same either way. So far my experience is that the N13 was the best performer in this setup and if the A26 is as good but with better fuel consumption then we might be missing out.

I’m down to half between 1/8 and 2/8 of a tank so I figured it was a good time to run my mileage and compare to the truck. Total gallons bought, per fuel card records, divided by total hub miles gives me 8.4 mpg so far, the truck reads 8.5. That sounds low so, when I look at more current numbers, January and February, so far, show 9.15. December was 7.3, it was that month I complained about really poor performance out of the truck until I got back to get my winter cover.
As you can see, I had over 2 mpg less that month due to the motor not able to maintain operating temperature and it was sucking fuel. If December hadn’t been so bad I could tell you I’m averaging 9 mpg in this truck.
I’m still impressed with the new A26 motor but these numbers confirm my theory that this new A26 motor must have a winter cover on it during cold temps, I’d say 28 degree high temperature for the day and lower, you need it, or performance suffers substantially.
There is nothing wrong with it; it does too good of a job at rejecting heat due to the large cooling package that comes standard with it and the new design of the motor. I think this will be great during high summer temps and climbing grades but really sucks come winter time, hence, the winter cover. -
Yesterday I had Summit do their software upgrade on the A26. Navistar had a laundry list of updates. It was a campaign so they have been bugging me to get it in pretty quick. I haven’t noticed any problems. I can tell already that, whatever they did, is making a big difference. I took a load from Noel, MO, 54k gross, to my current spot near Minneapolis, and got 11 mpg on the run.

11 mpg seems off considering I'm lucky to hit double digits with a 6.7L Powerstroke in an F550.
Ssgtkevin and Oldironfan Thank this. -
I got to say the reason for the b10 service life is answered in this thread. Physics has not changed last I've heard. It does not matter how much oil pressure you have, at 1200 rpm range you are running the engine on 100% torque and stressing the #### out of that engine. Also transmission being auto as most of you have sure get hot , and burn clutches when hot. Tell me, what temps you drivers are seeing? Ill stick with proven old school engines that have over b50 1 million service life.

oh,sure...you come to Minneapolis AFTER all the snow hits.... -
Double digits is what these are getting!!!
Oldironfan Thanks this.
