Someone correct me if I'm wrong---but years ago when i first saw them in Cali--
It was explained to me--the old west coast length laws created this---since a tractor trailer combo could only be so long
But there was another classification called Truck-Trailer and it allowed for a longer overall length--
Therefore the drom box--due to the length of the truck(drom) they could then pull a longer trailer.
Also if I'm not mistaken--it was the brainchild of either CF or PIE originally?
Are Drom's Still Used In the Baking Business on the West Coast?
