Sure, I'll train you. I heard they were going stop hiring students for a while. I guess you made it through.

I have to agree with CMoore on our hostile buddy Tinwistle's high and mighty attitude. None of us are boasting about any experience because we are just starting out in this business. What do the words SCHOOL and TRAINING mean to you Tinwistle? Did we all give you the impression we have a million miles like you supposedly have? What proof do you have to show us that? What gives you the right to take away our thunder and talk down to us like we were some piece of roadmeat you ran over a million miles ago? It is a good thing you are retired because I don't think any of us new drivers would want to meet you out on the road. You would probably bad mouth us and ridicule us as newbies. Don't forget, my friend, you were once a newbie too. Now, find yourself a quiet hobby somewhere and leave the driving to us. Think about us when you go to the store to buy something. Maybe one of us delivered it.

Let's stick to discussing topics and not taking shots at each other! Thank You.

Let me see where should I start....I'm getting out after 21 years of service and the honors program sounds like a great plan yes I have called roehl as well and am very satisfied with the responses to my questions. However back to my response to this guy.
If we as vets put money invested in our future ie gi bill then when should it matter of when we use it it's our money we invested for our future, FYI a vet must use his gi bill within 10 years of release from active duty.
You said othe segments of our population, so you are saying that the benefit I earned/invested in should be used by who?
I won't comment on your last rant about welfare....we vets have earned the right to use our benefits we invested in. I take it you have not served in our countrys armed forces.
yes sir I'm offended by your attitude towards our countrys vets.Fooman Thanks this. -
I'm going to respond to a couple of issues here. #1 my earlier post about vets and welfare and the like. If I would have kept reading you other vets on the honor program put him in his place so to speak. As you can tell I was just a little fired up while trying to stay tactful.
#2 bucks and ducks I have talked to wade in recruitment about joining the roehl team under the 14/7 plan out of garland, TX. I say that to say this your post is kinda raining on my parade. I'm due to get out mid jun of 09 and would hope to think there is a home for me with roehl.
I could call roehl however I don't want to get the answer of "yeah we can put you in a truck" and then find out I'm on a list of guys waiting for a trainer.
yes I fully understand the economy is in the toliet and the future is unknown however I'm hoping current employees (trainers) would be able to give me a honest outlook for my chances of employment.
I still have my CDL from years ago when I drove for a local company during a break I took in service to our country. However I have not been in a truck for over 15 years and have no problem going back to school which I passed on to recruitment when I filled out my app online.
so in short any ideas what the future holds for us newbies? thanks andy -
