Hunter i can overhaul a CAT myself cheaper than a cummins owner can dream of doing an ISX or N14..... And i agree if CAT is so bad then why are 90% of the Paccar trucks equipped with them? Theres always a bunch in a crowd who will hate and obviously they all know how to use the interweb!![]()

550,
Your one of few people who can do that; however, what about those who can not? What is the cheaper option?
Hunter -
Sell their truck and work for a company if they have no mechanical skill. CAT parts are cheaper than cummins parts, go price some things and let me know how you like that "cheap and easy" N14.

Local KW dealer charges a $15 an hour premium to work on ISX's...

Most owner operators fail
-
Yeah you obviously did, just waiting on the repo man to come get the puter so you can get your last ounce of shat talkin in.
C16KIWI Thanks this. -
Are you an owner operator? Or have you ever been?
-
I'm 47 years old with a well established business. You spend your money on hot rod toys, I spend my money on specialized trailers, forklifts, and warehouse space.
-
Mean ya don't even own any trucks?
-
Yeah trucks too. Cummins power. 855 inch mechanically governed.
Spend way more money on trailers and forklifts though. I have a 20,000 Hyster pneumatic tire and a 30,000 Silent hoist solid tire plus a bunch of smaller stuff.
As far as trailers go I have a Trail King TK 70SA (landoll type) with a the dock levelers, A 48-80 stretch flat, A 35 ton Rodgers detach, and an old Dorsey 48x96 flat.
