Hey bud you have been at this forum for a while, haven't you read the gazillion posts about mentors only in it for the money?

Listen, all the issues of trucking is someone is shirking their responsibility and trying to put it on someone else:

Your school should have taught you backing and pre-trips.

You should have diligently sought out a school that would provide you with those lessons.

Your company should only be in company training if you have the pre-trip, backing, and all other trucking issues worked out.

Your company should have not hired you if you cannot handle the pre-trip or backing.

Your company should be paying for and enforcing the pre-trip.

Your mentor should be only tasked with teaching company rules and procedures, not teaching you how to drive.

Always follow the money. People made good money selling you a school but only teaching you half the job. Now you put it on your mentor to teach you the rest of the job, only he is only tasked with and paid for teaching you company rules and procedures, and your upset about this. So goes trucking. We talk about this stuff every day here, and now you are just surprised about it?

Your trainer has a vested interest in you passing your upgrade tests. Its his resposibility to make sure you can pass these tests or he has failed at training you. At least thats how it was with my trainer. Best of Luck -

I had always thought Schneider had a good training program. The TE ( Training Engineer) was always in jump seat with you while driving. Plus there was no student/trainer teaming either. You ran the show while being coached at the same time
