Bull####. If that’s true, then shippers and receivers have the responsibility to leave a driver enough time to get to a safe haven.
This industry is a ####ed up mess and grows worse with each new piece of legislation. As I’ve said before, I hope it burns to the ground.
Is there a "BUFFER" to get to the next truck stop when the driving as no more hours ?

If someone says "I need to find a safe haven to park" that's fine. Terminology dosn't matter then.
If someone says "The law says you can go find a safe haven", it does matter.
Especially in the context of safe haven. Way too many people get tickets as they are flooded from truck stop counter stories about how one can use it to go over hours. After the hundredth time, it starts ringing true.
People in other threads are whining we don't act like professionals. Part of being a professional is using the correct legal terminology when talking about legal matters inside the profession.peterd, Just passing by and scottied67 Thank this. -
Simple fact is one should have left the docks earlier. At the 12th or 13th hour start making noise you have to leave. If you are not released in time, you simply leave. Leave the trailer if you have to and bobtail out.
There is no excuse, save breakdown of the truck/trailer, to ever have to blame a shipper/receiver on having to break HOS.HotH2o Thanks this. -

It’s my trailer and I’m surely not going to leave it at a shipper or receiver because they are taking too long. I also like to eat and that requires getting paid for the load, which is hard to do when you run off without a proof of delivery.Zaros, barnmonkey and Timin770 Thank this. -
It is indeed going to burn to the ground, and from the ashes a new phoenix shall arise. -
