Thanks so much @brian991219 for the vote of confidence! I think I’d do well with the customer service aspect added in and am carefully weighing all angles and aspects. I’m trying hard not to overlook anything and you and others have given me great directions to look in.
I’d ideally work with some customer service, I believe I’d be strong in that area. I really can’t see myself being satisfied without a good deal of social exchange (be it with coworkers or niceties with customers), as that’s my professional background.
Of course I’ll update when I make a decision! I simply cannot wait to share whatever good news I’ll get. Despite lurking here for months on end I look forward to being an active participant. Again, I really appreciate you taking time out to advise me.

Thank you @Scooter Jones - a great idea. I’ll add them to my list. I haven’t contacted anyone yet being that I’m one more week from graduation - but that date is looming and I need to get on it!
I’d be perfectly happy with something like that. I went through the full CDL training because it’s something I’ve always wanted to do (a bucket list kind of thing) but would be grateful to drive straight trucks for either company delivering locally. -
Might look into some of the tanker companies in your area. Most tanker outfits don't run OTR. The job really isn't all that physical but it pays well.

First things first, I thank you on behalf of myself and the thousands of people you’ve advised on this forum. I’ve been poring over your posts since July - you are an invaluable resource on this website. I’ve searched many times specifically for the posts and job advice you offer to so many and thus have avoided calamity.
I am going to take your list of potentials straight to my job placement person at school and see what she’ll do with it (might as well take advantage of the $$$ I paid while I’m still there).
Great leads!
Thank you again for your reply and your selfless knowledge and advice. You’ve been a wonderful resource for me in the last year.
I’ll be certain to update what happens with each company I contact. -
Better get those applications submitted; it's best to do the apps during the very first week of school.Güera Thanks this.

@Chinatown Beelman would be ideal for me. They have a yard near my training yard, I eye them coming in and out all day. Additionally I live about 5m from them, beautiful!
I’ve heard sketchy rumors about their pay from fellow classmates but have been disregarding it as they are just classmates.
I’ll let you know once I find out the details.Chinatown Thanks this. -
Don't forget to ask about tuition reimbursement. Not all companies offer it but if they do you might as well take it.
-
@ethos - thank you and I will look into that! I do have my tanker endorsement and that would work well for me. If it’s not physical and I can be home then I’m able to work out and make up for being sedentary.
I’m in the process of getting background checked for Hazmat, which won’t be a problem, it just takes some time apparently. -
@ethos Yes, I’d love to have my tuition reimbursed if possible. Thank you for the reminder, I’ll make certain to ask. I’m of the opinion that if I don’t ask, I won’t receive. It really would be ideal to be reimbursed or to make a decent wage that’s well worth the money I spent.Last edited: Jan 28, 2018
