Can you tell me a little about the company? Say if a driver lived up there in Mountain City how often would he be driving through there and get time off?
They actually keep any loaded trailers up there at the terminal?Steel Dragon and dominic23 Thank this. -
Sure no problem at all. Personally I have driven through mountain city very little. In total I been here 2.5 years and only been 3 times. Each time I go it’s a load I pick up in Virginia then stop at a prison along the way and come to the terminal to drop. The load I always get out of there is a Eastman non hazmat chemical load. It’s usually a brand new trailer set with a tag that reads “Eastman only” and that sends you down to Laredo tx. Where you will stop at the terminal first in Laredo for a interchange and then take it over to the forwarding company. As far as home time, u get 1.5 days off for every week out. With a minimum of 2 weeks out. They are pretty good at getting you home a day before the requested day off. So plenty of time I find myself with 12-24 extra hours home.Steel Dragon, Need4Speed and A Bug Thank this.

I always wondered about how often ya’ll actually run through Mountain City, given how remote it is. I’m local to the area and unless they have some secret route in and out of there I certainly don’t see many trucks around. Figured y’all pretty much stayed south except running in and out of Eastman
Steel Dragon and dominic23 Thank this. -
We just take 91 into mountain city. It’s not a rookie route but better then 421Steel Dragon and racemaxx24 Thank this.

Start school Monday. I have worked inside Eastman for the last 16 years...
Would you recommend DHT for a new driver? The lanes, equipment, reviews appeal to me. But I am worried about pay? Approximately, what would a new driver average take home?
Thanks!!!Steel Dragon and dominic23 Thank this. -
As a new driver it is a great place. The people are very friendly and helpful. If you are a family person and enjoy home time I am sure you’ll like it. But they do a great job at keeping the truck moving no matter how your hours are. I didn’t start here but do know starting pay is 33cpm solo after training so you’ll be looking at about $890-$990 a week (based on 2700-3000 miles). During training expect 15-16cpm, so $750-$960 a week. (You will be teaming so around 5000-6000 miles). All this is before taxes and bonuses. I will attach photos of all our pay scales with bonuses to help you and/or your family calculate it a little betterA Bug and Steel Dragon Thank this.

The people are awesome.
Dispatch is a highly intelligent bunch, they don't cheat you.
You will get paid for everything you do.
I gross usually $1200+ per week,but I run nights.
Haven't visited mountain city since I left orientation and wouldn't want to return..haven't found a good truck route through there.
I took a pay cut to come to DHT,but the lanes and people, make the difference.
Lots of 1500-2000 mile runs along I40..love it.
1833 Jar-head and dominic23 Thank this. -
Glad you like it also. Love the night driving man, feels like the road is all yoursSteel Dragon Thanks this.
