Well, I know Al Hoffer. Good man. Tends to "over emphasize" and go overboard to get you to go with whatever company he's with. He will help you as much as you need....even if it is out of his own pocket..... providing he likes you. I knew him at Landstar and more recently at TMT (HUGE mistake). I don't know much about Medallion, but my best friend was interviewed for a safety opening and was low-balled on the salary.
So, while I can't see much wrong with them, I just couldn't go on with a company which would not let me have absolute control of my business. If you want that, and can stand working for corporate America, may I suggest Landstar.

Okay guys. Is there a mark on your head where you were forced at gunpoint to sign the lease? You want to be an owner operator and business owner? Man, it doesn't matter if your whole family is on they're deathbed, you still have to pay your bills....which include your deductions. There isn't a company in the U.S. who doesn't take out your deductions weekly based on who you are, or what your situation is. Do your creditors allow you to miss payments because your chile is sick, without causing your credit harm? If so, ya gotta be on the left. They're the ones who want the country to give you everything free. Hard lesson.... LIFE DON'T WORK THAT WAY!

I've been with Medallion for about 6 months. You're encouraged to browse load boards to find loads that your interested in running then screen shot it to dispatch and they'll try and get a better rate for you on the load and book it for you. Rate per mile avg $2 to a little over $3 a mile on loads 500 miles or less. They pay 75% of linehaul and 100% of fuel surcharge 40% advanced to your Comdata card for fuel once load has been picked up. I would recommend you bring your own trailer here must be a plated and vented 53' food grade dry van(No wooden sides or ceiling). If you have no trailer you'll be leasing a new or near new trailer from Premier trailer leasing thru Medallion its a 3 year lease $175 a week that covers ALL MAINTENANCE & TIRES while you have the trailer and a $1,000 escrow for trailer for your deductible in case of loss of the trailer. Your married to that trailer no drop and hooks.

Maybe you need to change agents with them to Chris & Ashley. Avg per mile is over $2.25 a mile. As far as truck issues with truck your an O/O its on you to fix your truck not the company. They have a 3rd party that will help you with breakdowns called Ameriquest. I've never had to use them because I put money away for maintenance on my truck every week. If you don't have a trailer then you will have to lease one thru them at $175 a week that covers ALL maintenance and TIRES on the trailer with a $1,000 escrow for trailer. All lumper fees are paid by the company at NO charge back to the contractor provided you produce a receipt for the lumper service. Overall Medallion is a good company to work for as an O/O. I run Mon thru Fri home either Fri night or Sat morning running from PA south to FL and east of Mississippi river. Net to truck avg between $1,700 to $2,400 a week after fuel and expenses.Any questions about Medallion PM me and I'll be happy to answer any of your questions.

How have things been over with Medallion so far in 2019?
Thinking about running a step deck with them. I heard they may have good paying flat/step loads.
