    Hello all,

Does anyone has a 60" spread in the drive axle of the tractor and 55" inch on the tridem of the trailer. Just wondering what's the max one can haul with that spread. I've hauled CAT 980's on a tridem RGN with the tractor drive axle spread at 55" and 55" on the trailer but it really makes the drive axle heavy. Was wondering if a use a tractor with 60" spread at the drive axle tandems what diff would it make on the weight.

    Thank you,

Well I'm not sure where to start, I've read your question a couple times and I think one of us is confused. To my knowledge none of those states differentiate between a 60" spread and a smaller one, I could and may well be wrong. I run a 60" spread because it used to benefit us in ohio but not anymore. I used to haul 980's on a tandem tractor all the time, what is your weight on the drives with a 980 on?

I'm still confused, you can easily permit more on the tractor.
