after being laid off for 2 years from oil and gas I am ready and excited to work again ... oil and gas is very feast and famine but I love that feast ... as someone who has been let go for getting too much done to quickly I live for the work feasts and the pay is great too... personally I think americans in other jobs are underpaid because I know some work their ### off for not much money but if they had even a clue they could make 100k they would.

Yes, we are looking for two O/Ops, you need to live in the Detroit area, or say within 100 mile radius of Detroit. The closer to Detroit the better. We primarily service GM, Chrysler and Ford. Mainly GM and Chrysler, Ford are cheap skates and like to cause drama... ;-)

Two other outfits that may be to your liking, same money, with no real issues in regards to where you live are these guys... Both are hiring O/Ops right now.

Expeditus Transport LLC out of Sylvania OH
    Welcome to Expeditus

Premium Transportation Logistics out of Toledo OH
The Premium Group - Premium Transportation Logistics, Premium Freight

I would look at these two outfits if you are not in the Detroit area, as they go everywhere. If you are in GA, these are the guys I would call. They do auto parts, and do run in your area. While my company is pretty much local up here in Detroit. The pay is the same with these guys, in some cases even better, they use the same outfit we use for our freight and others.

Expeditus is also running flatbeds if you are interested in that. I have worked for them in the past, they were a good outfit and still call me to come back. They were going through growing pains, but from what I have heard those issues were addressed.

If you are a company driver looking for work, they have O/Ops looking for drivers, but I would think long and hard about that. That is something you would have to work out with one of those guys. Some of their pay models are more than questionable. The owner operators, not the two carriers above. I never had pay issues with Expeditus.

Here is another outfit that may work for you...

    Roadrunner Transportation
    Roadrunner Transportation Systems Home

They do a mix of things, along with automotive. I have heard good things from their drivers, and they also deal in the better paying expedite freight we do. I believe they have company trucks too if you are a driver. I have no clue on their pay scale. And they do have those God awful lease trucks too if you are so inclined.

    Oil Shale is one thing.

What we really have is Gas, Natural Gas. There are I think 9 to 12 fields in the lower 48 not including the coastal areas not drilled. Within about 100 to 150 years we should have enough gas to become a "Creditor Nation" exporting Gas to the world at prices lower than Russia, China, Middle east can afford to charge to customers such as Europe.

We had I think converted 4 or is converting of LNG ports to export. There will be more built.

The problem is our National Debt and other Liabilities that increase and grow every year. I don't think the United States will be able to endure the 100 or so years that is needed to fully develop the fields. But we will see.

My part of Arkansas has had a boom in Nat Gas the last 15 years specifically from nothing. In my former home I used to hear the jaking of the gas tankers coming and going around one particular curve every 10 to 15 minutes day and night. That traffic has fallen off a little bit when the rig count falls as well. You can drive to Searcy and eyeball the parked equiptment of all kinds not being used. When the rig count is up those lots are more empty because everything is in the fields.

We still have enough coal to run the Nation a thousand plus years if we choose to do it.
