APU when buying a truck or not?

I like to think of myself as a smarter dumb alek. you can think I am smarter too, if you want.

Many of the big companies will do this because at this stage you get nothing for the APU. Maybe a bump on tractor value because it had an APU but few people want to buy the used APU headache. So they have trained people on staff to install them at a cost of less than $400 and if unit is older then you can still part it out.
And I am thinking that companies like Arrow would rather not have used APUs. So many problems. -

If you get an EPA mandated truck, you will need an APU, it is not recommended to idle them.
Myself, I just had a new ThermoKing Tri-Pac installed, replacing a 2007 unit, I would not own a truck without one. No matter what year, this is my fifth one.
