Updated Question: Are companies more likely to hire you if you already have a CDL permit even with bad driving records. Is it even better if you already have a CDL but limited experience.
I'm getting my permit Monday after my DOT physical. My uncle owns a trucking company (I would work for him but his insurance would sky rocket if he hired me, or that's what he said) and he is going to help me out and possibly get my CDL faster than if I wait to go through trucking school with a company

Sygma Network hires drivers with only a permit. Apply for driver helper, then after getting on the truck with another driver they give you 90 days to get the cdl.
Other than that, go with PAM. -
If you have a bad driving record (such as multiple reckless driving tickets), a CDL with years of experience means little, CDL with no experience means less, and a CDL permit means exactly nothing. It's all about the MVR when it comes to getting a driving job. That is the flaming beacon that shouts out the type of driver you are to the world.
If you owned $100k piece of equipment and customer contracts that were potentially worth millions, who would you hire to drive your truck: the guy with a nice clean driving record or the guy with a proven history of reckless disregard for the law? Trucking companies have newbies beating down their doors for jobs. If PAM is willing to give you a shot, take it. The pay will be low and you will be treated like livestock, but they're willing to take a chance on you. After a couple of years (so long as there are no more tickets), many many more opportunities will open to you. You're very lucky and blessed that PAM will hire you. Take full advantage of the opportunity. -
That's still the plan to go with PAM, I was just wanting to hear from experienced people what goes on and makes things look better for getting a job.
And there has never been a wreckless driving charge on my record. Also no DUIs. -
The industry standard is to consider 15 mph over or more to be reckless driving, regardless of what the actual charge is called. If you were working for ANY company, a ticket for 15 over would be immediate termination, even if you were off duty in your personal vehicle. I'm just trying to convey to you how seriously the industry takes big speeding tickets and how it is a miracle that ANYONE would consider hiring you with 2 such tickets in your recent past.IanMyLife Thanks this.

That's not exactly true

Y'ALL keep saying over and over the same thing to him about the severity of the speeding tickets.... He said he knows what he done was wrong now he is trying to figure out what he could do to get his CDL... Now they are telling you to go to Pam..... If you don't want to wait then go to CR England or Swift.... Really you options are limited.. call a recruiter and ask... With those tickets you are not going to get on with a better mega so it's really sloppy seconds on companies.... Or get your CDL on your own... Study obtain your permit ask your uncle if you can use his truck to take your test.... And get that pretrip down to the T and your backing skills... You can do it...
