I wonder if it will park on the fuel islands, in fire lanes, and hold up the hammer lane like the new breed currently does ?
We want it to be as real as possible don’t we ?

I heard that report on Dave Nemo yday.

It was a class 2 autonomy.
The driver has to be AT THE READY 100% of the time.
Sitting at the wheel.. ready to pounce in case there's a problem.
The truck can't park.. can't exit.. can't fuel.. couldn't execute the border stops on 10 in Tx, NM, and the Ag station in Blythe..
    It's worthless.

To me... that's even MORE exhausting than driving. Having to sit and wonder when a computer is going to cause a catastrophic event that you're going to be too late reacting to prevent AND then still get the blame.

I'll flip burgers and greet people at Wal-Mart before I trust a computer to drive.
Heck.. I won't even drive team. There's only two or three people alive I know I trust enough to sleep behind.

My wife isn't one of em.

Read the cnbc article, yeah it's a start up company from San Francisco. They want 40 trucks on the road with autonomous technology. Some of the comments on reddit were interesting. Funny on this site too, keep em coming, sorry no link.
I always lose stuff on reddit but just googled it.

I had a friend who told me to look for other work saying self driving trucks will be taking over. Well maybe in 25+ years when I'm 50 years old

well in 25 more years, i will either be in a wheelchair, or using a walker, and i can assure you, i won't even be using the sidewalk, with self driving anythings....

there will only be so much wind in my sails, in 25 more years.
