40k rears its overkill and unnecessarily heavy, assuming your not pulling B trains or some MI special super tanker.
Best bet is find something in the 19,000 with full tanks or under range. If you add a hydropak, pump & compressor, hose rack and hoses you'll be right around 20,000. That would allow you to haul 45,000 in a 307/407 insulated tank and still have room to play with.
I've run both 3.55 with a 13 & 3.42 with a 10. Both ran at exactly 1500 @ 70 mph. My current truck is a 10 with 3.42. It's great for highway, but I don't like the long throws between shifts. Once this trans wears out, I'm putting in a 13.13'trucker Thanks this. -

Sounds line you're looking at a glider. We have numerous guys running Pete gliders and they have no problem with weight. You'd be good.
Are you going to be putting equipment on? If so, you might want to take the 2 boxes behind the tanks off, they'll just be in the way and usually there's step boxes also.
I don't know exactly what rpm you would be at 65, but it would be 1500 or less.13'trucker Thanks this. -
yes its a glider would that be optimal at 1500rpm for all mechanicals and mpg

My tractor was originally ordered brand new by a tanker o/o. C15, 13 sp, 11R22.5, 3:70 rears. I like the 3:70's. Great setup for hills and mountains. Typical speeds are 70-75 mph with rpms 1600-1700 it'll do 6 mpg without excessive idling. Idling really sucks down the fuel quickly. Cold and hot weather more often than not has it around 5.5 mpg. That is still not bad IMO for the speeds I run. I see a guy that can't even crack 6 mpg at all, ever with almost the same set up except he has 3:55's in another thread.
13'trucker and ShooterK2 Thank this. -
That combo should put you at 1350-1400 at 65 mph. My truck has the same trans and rears, but tall 24’s instead of low pros, and it turns right at 1300 at 65.ChicagoJohn and 13'trucker Thank this.
