Yes absolutely you can. However your not going to get hired by some carriers until some time has past by. And a few might not ever hire you.

What is your state laws say as far as how long? That's your first obstacle. Then you have to find a second chance company to give you a second chance. Definitely an uphill battle.

You will have to complete a program if you had done that in a 18 wheeler, that is specifically drawn out and designed to weed out addicts, abusers and non compliants. Takes about a year or so.

Here in Arkansas you would be suspended, so driving is finished for now pending your sentencing and punishment in fines which could approach 10K.

When the dust settles later wait about 3 to 5 years and then maybe you can take a shot at getting a CDL because by the time you finished school and so forth, it might be 7 years. After which you will have a new shot at the trucking thing. If they are still using humans to drive by then.

In certain states a DUI conviction instantly gets your commercial driving privileges suspended or revoked for a certain time period. Then you have to redo the whole process like in the revoking judgementOR pay a fee to get the suspension lifted. You need to get through the state regs first.

Way back in the old days in most places refusing to blow or do blood testing had penalties that actually were easier then getting the DUI. And even then the fines were relatively easy. However this has changed over the last 50 or so years. This reminds me also of something an uncle once told me about logbooks. Way back when if you were running (hot) it was actually better just to tell the officer you had no logbook. Of course that has all changed. Im old enough to remember when people carried beer in coolers while driving.
