We will have to agree to disagree. I do count fueling as work, and I think 20 dollars per hour is not enough to sacrifice that large a chunk of my life. The work may not be physically taxing nor take an enourmous amount of brain power, but it requires sacrifices that most people are not willing to make.
It is horrible for your health both physical and mental.
But dont take my word for it, look at the dearth of new drivers willing to take on these responsibilities . The market knows better than you or I what jobs are good.
Deserve's got nothing to do with it.
Do teachers deserve more money? Sure are lots of folks lining up for those jobs at lower pay than their education might get them elsewhere. Why?
Its rewarding and summers off. You are part of the community and you get to have a social life.
Now I love trucking but I would not do for less money. Many teachers say they would do it for free.
Its a crappy job and any pay that is above average for work that requires no education is because no one else is dumb enough to do it.
All that being said , I do enjoy it! Its the least money for the most hours I have made since I left the service. I enjoyed that job as well even though on paper it was a total waste of time.
Where to start when entering the trucking industry?
